COVER LETTER
Good day,
For more than 30 years I have been developing a special brand of strategic translation intelligence, a philosophy built on the principle that deep with in the fabric of local culture is a multicultural thread that sews together a common ground of understanding globally. If you can tap into these cultures directly you will unlock the key to creating growth marketing strategies that ignite early and burn long. This is my growth marketing leadership style, to first see you, then decide how to be of service to you.
One of my deepest passions across my stroytelling capabilities is photography. Asia is home to the first photograph I had ever taken that I considered to be a work of art back in 2008 in Hong Kong. That trip sparked my facination with Asia as it gave me a first hand look through the lens of the birthplace of my Grandfather and the extending region through, Shanghai, Beijing China, wrapping up in Singapore. I returned to in Asia to expand my Asia market expertise through immersion in the culture begining with the Shanghai Art Fair, which stands as the pinnical annual event not just in art but throughout design, which is the very foundtation of all effective strategic communication.
A following trip to Xiamen to visit with clothing designers, hoteliers, and realestate developers expanded the multi-market and regionsal experience I came in search of evenutally culminating in my study of both Muay Thai and Chinese Zen Buddhism in the Kingdom of Thailand. I chose Thailand as my base due to the incompassing and expansive nature of its tourism market. Bangkok is a university within itself for the comprhenssion of intermingling of Asian culture intemrixed with travelers from all 4 corners of the globe.
Having worked on projects that include coordinating with governmental agencies in Canada, while securing deliverables from the US, for creative that was developed in the Caribbean, people managment has been essential to the success of the growth expereinces and activations I have introduced, produced, and delivered to clients globally.
Research anchors the work to measurable outcomes that can be anticipated through data and strategic thinking leading to the development of ideas that can be executed repeatedly at scale to consistently deliver results through every stage of cross-functional collaboration. With every small win in each department, confidence grows so I focus on fostering clear communication and buying across the growth marketing spectrum.
Since the begning of my career I have taken on the newest tools available to increase productivity. As technology noly expands faster than ever before in history I expand my familiarity in MarTech and innovation through study, practice, discernment applied to sought advisement from experts in each new emerging field that may be of benefit to each and ever aspect of our processes.
In closing, while I have been heavily influenced by being born in Toronto, Canana to Jamaican/Chinese parents and eventually became a US citizen, it is travel around the globe that has shaped me as a human being and as s storyteller. From my earliest memories toruing Europe and the UK in my teens to, as an adult living throughout the Caribbean and Colombia. Upon its inception, Airbnb has repeatedly been an anchor in these new adventures, giving me the oppotunity to explore while I study culture from around the globe.
What has begun as a cover letter to express where my talents can be of benefit to Airbnb has become a journey down memory lane as I reflect on my journeys across the globe staying in Airbnb's. So thank you for posting this role and giving me the opporutunity to reconnect to my why. I look forward to having the opportunity to be a part of your continued growth.
